Stationary Trebuchet
As you change the relative masses, the pivot point adapts to the optimal location.
Wheeled Trebuchet
k is the ratio of the long arm of the trebuchet to the short arm. Notice that wheels allow the counterweight to drop more directly, and yield a faster throw.
